The Stanley Cup is touring Washington DC today

NBC Washington, an affiliate of NBC which owns the right to broadcast NHL games, broke the news at 6am this morning. With the Capitals in the midst of a five-game swing out west, the Stanley Cup is touring the nation’s capital this morning.

Here are the locations where you can check it out.

  • Lincoln Memorial – 9:45 a.m.
  • White House – 11:30 a.m.
  • Freedom Plaza – Noon
  • Farragut Square – 12:30 p.m.
  • 7th Street NW – 2:30 p.m.
  • U.S. Capitol at 3rd Street – 5 p.m.

According to NBC Washington, the public is encouraged to come to each site. If you make it out and get a picture with the cup, please tweet us or drop us your photo in the comments.

Over the next few weeks, the Cup will travel to every NHL city whose team has qualified for this year’s playoffs.
