Face-punching Alex Ovechkin tells Josh Anderson to wipe the blood off his nose after line brawl

Orlando is currently hosting Wrestlemania, but the main event just happened in Columbus, Ohio.

With 8:39 left in the third period, the Capitals and Blue Jackets engaged in a line-brawl that almost saw Braden Holtby and Sergei Bobrovsky come to blows. It ended with Alex Ovechkin making a hand motion to Blue Jackets forward Josh Anderson, encouraging him to wipe the blood off his nose.

The fracas got next-level angry after Blue Jackets forward Josh Anderson punched Alex Ovechkin in the face and chest. Ovechkin didn’t appreciate the gesture much so he started dropping left hands on Anderson like he was Little Mac.

Tom Wilson came to the Russian machine’s defense and grabbed the next person he could find.

Bobrovsky, not considering the potential ramifications of such a move, skated out to the blue line, giving a backwards hug to Nicklas Backstrom.

Holtby skated out to the opposing blue, ready to drop the hammer at any minute.

Once the players were separated, Ovechkin, in a boss move, gestured to Anderson already in the penalty box.

The angry combatants exchanged pleasantries while standing in the penalty box.

Meanwhile, Ovi sassily waved his hand at the Blue Jackets as if to say You’re not even worth my time.
