Despite the record-breaking season that Washington had, many Caps fans remain nervous about what is to come in the playoffs.
While many of you have spewed your thoughts about jinxes and other worries in RMNB’s comments section, someone else decided to stick their own in a place where the Caps themselves would be much more likely to see it: the boards of the team’s practice facility.
The sassy comment, written in black marker, says Y’all Better make it past the 2nd Round.

I mean, we were all thinking it. We just weren’t sharpie-ing it all over Kettler.
We all know that the our beloved Caps have had major difficulties getting past the second round of playoffs in the past. From the Penguins last year to the Rangers the year before that, the Capitals have not made it past the second round since 1998, when the team made its only Stanley Cup appearance. Head Coach Barry Trotz has never accomplished this feat either during his nearly two decade long career in the NHL.
Just keep in mind though, that the Capitals haven’t lost until they’ve lost.
So for now, let’s just laugh at the brazenness of whoever wrote on the boards at Kettler and not be so damn pessimistic.
