The Capitals’ second line have a tough job in Game Five: shut down Auston Matthews.

And while Auston Matthews scored in the second period, the Kuznetsov line and especially their wizened veteran winger, Justin Williams, cemented their place in Caps playoff overtime legend with the game-winner.

They kept it simple.

Kuznetsov outworked the Leafs to the puck and sent it directly to the slot, where Williams was crashing towards the net.

A clean, decisive end to a messy game.

Justin Williams has 36 goals and 54 assists in his 132-game playoff career. What a human.
