After series-clinching victory, Justin Williams receives speeding ticket from Virginia police

Justin Williams may have tallied the primary assist on Marcus Johansson’s round one series-ending goal, but his night ended in the worst possible way.

At some point while the three-time Stanley Cup champion was returning home, Williams received a gift from the Virginia State Police: a speeding ticket.

It’s unclear from the tweet if Williams was pulled over by police or this was an automated ticket that was waiting for him in the mail.

Regardless, I’m sure there are a few million Caps fans who would be willing to pitch in to pay that fine.
