Ilya Samsonov says he’s ‘100%’ after undergoing offseason groin surgery

In an Instagram post on Friday, Capitals goalie prospect Ilya Samsonov posed at the Glacier Ice and Snow Arena in Ponpano Beach, Florida, with Luis Alvarez, a physical therapist on the training staff of the Florida Panthers.

Samsonov, who underwent inguinal hernia surgery earlier in the summer, thanked Alvarez in the post and declared, “Finally I feel 100%! All my injuries are behind me. Let’s go train some more!”

As reported here earlier, Samsonov likely suffered the injury on this play in the bronze-medal match between Russia and Sweden during the World Junior Championship in January 2017.
