You guys, Nate Schmidt is finally and officially a Vegas Golden Knight now. I’m sorry.
Saturday evening, Golden Knights’ general manager George McPhee accepted an arbitrator’s decision from earlier in the day and signed Schmidt to a two-year, $4.45 million. The contract will keep Schmidt in Las Vegas through the 2018-19 season. Schmidt’s cap hit is a super affordable $2.225 million.

Schmidt played parts of four seasons in Washington tallying eight goals in 200 games. He led the NHL in smiles during that time.

Following an arbitration decision, Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee announced today, August 5, that the team has signed defenseman Nate Schmidt to a two-year contract through the 2018-19 season worth an average annual value of $2,225,000.
