Tom Wilson fostered a puppy until it found a forever home

Tom Wilson may enjoy angrily punching other people in the face, but he also has a more gentle side off the ice.

The Caps enforcer, along with his lovely girlfriend Taylor Pischke, took in their first foster puppy last week from Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. The couple cared for Tulip, a brindle-colored boxer/plott-hound mix puppy. And by the sound of it, this is just the start of Wilson’s life as a foster dog dad.

“Had a week we won’t forget with our first foster puppy,” Wilson wrote on Instagram. “Tulip got adopted today and there are plenty of dogs that need a forever home!”

Wilson posted five photos of Tulip, and the pair appears to have gotten very cuddly together. And with eyes like this, it’s easy to understand.

If you ask me, adopting a stray or rescue animal is a life-changing decision that can fill your heart with love even on your worst days. Homeward Trails has 215 animals available for adoption and I bet they’d all love to watch hockey with you.
