The Washington Capitals celebrated the New Year with family and friends Sunday night. And they made sure not to forget about you, their adoring fans.
Alex Ovechkin and Dmitry Orlov
Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin and Dmitry Orlov spent New Year’s Eve together at a Russian restaurant (probably Mari Vanna) and posted several ridiculous videos in their Instagram Story. The Russian machine blew on a New Year’s horn. The two Russians smiled and waved sparklers dangerously close to their faces in another.
“Happy New Year, everyone !!!,” Ovechkin wrote excitedly in an Instagram post. “All blessings, love, health, success, and prosperity in the new 2018 !!! ❤️🎁🍾🍾🎄 # happynewyear”
Meanwhile, Orlov, in a top hat, wrote “Happy New Year everyone 🎊🥂”
Evgeny Kuznetsov
Evgeny Kuznetsov went a different and even more excellent route. Posing with a beardy blowup doll dressed in Capitals gear and holding an Alex Ovechkin stick, Kuzy laughed in front of a Christmas tree. “Happy new year everyone 🎄🎄🎄,” wrote the Russian center.
Nathan Walker
Caps prospect and current Hershey Bear, Nathan Walker, posted several photos of his family, including his fiancee Tayla. “What an incredible journey 2017 took us on. Looking forward to 2018!” he wrote on Instagram.
Jakub Vrana
Rookie forward Jakub Vrana posted a photo of himself hugging Devante Smith-Pelly. “HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!,” Vrana wrote, going a lowercase #allcaps for the team’s mantra.
Andre Burakovsky
Andre Burakovsky posted a video at home spending time with his fam.
Jonas Siegenthaler
Caps defense prospect Jonas Siegenthaler traveled to the Bahamas for the New Year. Hershey has the entire week off before returning for practice Friday.
Riley Barber
Caps forward prospect Riley Barber posted a photo with his brother.
Shane Gersich
Capitals 2014 draft pick Shane Gersich went bowling.
Brooks Laich
Former Capitals forward Brooks Laich posted a photo of himself kissing his wife Julianne Hough at midnight.
Marcus Johansson
Former Capital Marcus Johansson, who made his grand return to Capital One Arena on Saturday, posted an adorable photo with his wife and daughter Mila.
Stan Galiev
Stan Galiev, now playing with KHL Ak Bars, kissed his wife and posted several other photos with his friends.
