Alex Ovechkin feeds seagulls, lays down on bed at Bed Bath & Beyond during bye week vacation

Alex Ovechkin leads the league in goals at age 32 and is one of the game’s greatest players. So how does a legend like this spend a mandated bye week?

Ovechkin, like many of his teammates, migrated south and visited a tropical locale (Miami). But instead of taking a dip in the ocean or digging his toes in the sand, the Russian machine fed seagulls on the beach.

I’m serious.

A lone seagull flew to Nastya hoping she was as generous as her husband, but nope, get out of here, bird.

After an exhausting day feeding his feathered friends, Ovechkin then went to his favorite retail store, Bed Bath & Beyond, with his wife. Ignoring signs that forbid guests from sitting on the beds, Ovi took his shoes off and literally made himself at home.

The Ovechkins left Washington from National Airport on a Saturday morning flight the day after Jay Beagle scored a buzzer beater against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The happy couple was joined by Ovechkin’s brother, Mikhail.
