Chandler Stephenson just had the greatest shift of his hockey career. With the Capitals down 2-0 early in the second period, Stephenson scored twice on the same shift to tie the game by himself.
Stephenson proved in the AHL he can score in bunches, and tonight he just registered his first career multi-goal game.

On Stephenson’s first goal, the 23-year-old forward went hard to the net and poked home a loose puck in Michal Neuvirth’s crease. Lars Eller threw the puck on net at a bad angle, and Stephenson kept playing.

47 seconds later, Stephenson scored on a breakaway after a great outlet pass by Madison Bowey. Stephenson deked twice before depositing the puck through Neuvirth’s five hole.
The goals were Stephenson’s first in 29 games. Stephenson last scored against the Pittsburgh Penguins on November 10.
