The Pittsburgh Penguins out-chanced the Washington Capitals 15-7 in the first period, scoring the game’s first two goals.

But there was nothing they could do when Alex Ovechkin decided to do his thing.

Ovechkin scored his league-leading 31st goal of the season after blowing by 2017 All-Star Kris Letang in the defensive zone.

Ovechkin now has two goals in his three meetings against the Penguins so far.

Ovechkin now has 589 goals, which ranks him 20th all-time.

Update: After a great pass from Evgeny Kuznetsov, Alex Ovechkin scored his 32nd goal of the year in the third period. He now leads the league by four goals.
