Tom Wilson left the ice in a hurry after a puck hit him in his face.
ALmost halfway into the second period, the Caps’ top line occupied the defensive zone as the Kings mounted an attack. High in the slot was Nicklas Backstrom, who stuck his stick out to intercept a slapshot from Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin. The puck bounced off Backstrom’s stick to hit Wilson in the face.
