More from the Caps:

The Washington Capitals will wear their Caps Navy jersey during the Tuesday, March 20, home game versus the Dallas Stars at Capital One Arena, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

In addition all fans who attend the March 20 game will receive a Special Edition T.J. Oshie Bobblehead featuring the Caps Navy jersey courtesy of Capital One Bank. Limited tickets are available for purchase at washcaps.com/promotions.

The jersey was specifically designed for the 2018 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series, held on March 3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. The Capitals defeated the Maple Leafs 5-2 in front of a sellout crowd to record their third outdoor win in franchise history and improve to 3-0-0 in outdoor games, one of two teams in the NHL with an undefeated record with at least three wins (New York Rangers).

The Capitals’ special edition crest design centers around the team’s informal nickname, CAPS™, and is stylistically aligned to the team’s current wordmark. Additionally, the crest incorporates the three stars from the team’s primary moniker, which also honors the Washington, D.C., city flag. The pants feature a new contemporary “W” with three stars of the city flag, which also serves as a subtle nod to the Washington monument.

Additional design details include a bolder one-color version of the Capitals’ numbers for better visibility in the outdoor stadium setting. As a historic tribute to team’s hometown, the numbers are accentuated with a perforated pattern based on Pierre Enfant’s original grid plan for the city of Washington D.C. A strong white shoulder yoke serves as a nod to the classic stars & stripes from the clubs’ past uniforms and the thick red stripes and hem stripes evoke thoughts of the city flag of Washington D.C.

Beginning March 20, select Caps Navy jerseys will available for purchase with a 25% discount at the Team Stores at Kettler Capitals Iceplex and Capital One Arena, with customization available at the Team Store at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. The discount applies while supplies last.
