Shane Gersich is making his NHL debut on Wednesday night after signing a two-year deal on Friday.
To celebrate his big milestone, the Capitals gave Gersich the “rookie treatment” during warmups. The UND alum took a few solo laps on the ice before the rest of the team joined him.

This must be so exciting and harrowing at the same time.
Gersich’s mom Shar, dad Frank, and older brother Cade are all in attendance for his debut.
So sweet.
Shane Gersich in #Caps lineup tonight, latest player to go right from NCAA season to NHL following Bruins' Ryan Donato, Ducks' Troy Terry, Wild's Jordan Greenway. Canucks' Adam Gaudette about to do same.
