On Wednesday, the NHL continued its promotion of congratulating different teams on making the playoffs. The Washington Capitals’ congratulations came in the form of a video from rap artist Snoop Dogg.
Snoop gave an extra shoutout for Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin.

Snoop called Alex Ovechkin his “nephew”. To be totally honest, I usually wouldn’t care about things like this, but it does make it way better especially after Ovechkin geeked out over meeting the rapper during the 2017 All Star Game.
Once again, Ovechkin was thrilled about the acknowledgment from his pal.

Now, the Capitals twitter seems to imply that this time everything is different because Snoop might be on our side (even though he also made a video for the Nashville Predators, but we’ll ignore that).

It would be wonderful to have Snoop Dogg on the Capitals bandwagon. We know he already has the jersey for it!
But he should probably know that we’re pretty full of star power already with Larry King and Pat Sajak so, he’ll need to be okay with sharing.
