Tom Wilson’s redemption goal

Tom Wilson has scored his first goal of the playoffs. After two and one-third pretty rough games, Wilson just did a very good thing.

With the score tied at zero early in the second period, the Caps stormed the Columbus zone. Holding the puck along the half wall, Alex Ovechkin made a deft pass to Matt Niskanen at the point. Niskanen released a beautiful shot, made even more beautiful by Wilson’s presence in front of the net.

Wilson got a touch on it.

Matt Niskanen initially got credit for the goal until NHL officials gave the tally to Wilson during the second intermission.

Wilson has six penalty minutes so far this series, with the Caps losing their lead twice on his penalties before tonight. This is how you make amends.
