Game One lines: Andre Burakovsky returns to the Caps lineup, Chandler Stephenson will center third line

The Washington Capitals are in Tampa Bay ready to face off against the Lightning in Game One of the Eastern Conference Final.

Here’s a look at the ever-changing lines from the morning skate.

Nicklas Backstrom, who has an injured right hand, was held out of practice and will be replaced on the second line by Lars Eller. Chandler Stephenson will be the team’s third pivot for Game One.

The Capitals will see one new face in the lineup. Andre Burakovsky, who has missed the last month of playoff games with an upper-body injury, will likely return tonight.

He just needs final clearance from Caps trainers.

Trotz said afterwards that both Backstrom and Burakovsky would be game-time decisions.

Missing from the lineup are Nathan Walker, who made his NHL playoff debut during Game Six against the Penguins, and Travis Boyd. Walker had a primary assist on Alex Chiasson’s second period goal. Boyd previously centered the third line.
