Jay Beagle and Lars Eller give Capitals commanding 4-0 lead in Game One

The Washington Capitals are playing nearly flawless hockey through two periods of play. A Jay Beagle rebound strike and a Lars Eller power play goal have added to the Caps early lead.

We have a blowout brewing in Tampa.

Jay Beagle goal

The Caps fourth line center lit the lamp first in the second period. The play started as Caps defenseman Dmitry Orlov walked Lightning captain Steven Stamokos near the blue line. Orlov found Brett Connolly in the left circle, but the forward muffed the shot.

Beagle knocked the puck past Andrei Vasilevskiy for his second goal of the postseason and fifth point in 12 games.

Lars Eller goal

Four minutes and two seconds later, Eller hit pay dirt in nearly an identical fashion.

While on the power play, Ovechkin muffed an Ovi Shot From The Ovi Spot. TJ Oshie got a piece of the initial rebound and then Eller grabbed the loose puck in the crease and scored.

It’s 4-0 Caps. What is life?
