The Capitals are the new Stanley Cup favorites according to Bovada

What a time to be alive.

Tuesday afternoon, Bovada sent out their latest Stanley Cup picks and you’re not going to believe this. The Washington Capitals are the new odds-on favorites to win it all.

The Washington Post’s Isabelle Khurshudyan first tweeted out the news. The Caps have eight to five odds.

Washington currently leads the Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Final two games to none and are two wins away from their first trip to the Stanley Cup Final since 1998. They blew out the Lightning both games at home, outscoring the Bolts 10-4 on home ice.

Coming into the regular season, the Capitals had 12 to one odds of winning the Cup, which gave them the same chances as Tampa. Check out Vegas’s odds.

Micah McCurdy’s Edgar model currently gives Washington a 57 percent chance of going all the way.
