Devante Smith-Pelly scores huge third-period goal to give Caps 2-0 lead in Game Six

Unbelievable. The Caps are up 2-0 thanks to a thrilling goal from the fourth line and Brooks Orpik.

So. Okay. Here’s what happened.

It started all the way at the other end of the ice. Orpik was in the defensive zone trying to break the puck out, but the Tampa forecheck got him tied up.

Bailing him out comes Devante Smith-Pelly, who lobs the puck down the ice. An icing seems imminent, except! Chandler Stephenson wins the race!!

Eventually, Jay Beagle gets the puck and passes to Stephenson below the net. Stephenson finds a hard-charging DSP.

One pass, one touch, goal.

It’s Smith-Pelly’s fourth of the playoffs.

Wow!
