The Washington Capitals have been on a roll with bobbleheads this season. In August, we got Dmitry Orlov, our favorite unsung Russian defenseman who wasn’t even under contract with the team at the time. On November 8, we had the most consequential election of our time, as Braden Holtby beat out two other candidates to be immortalized in resin. A little while later, the Capitals released a divinely inspired Alex Ovechkin bobblehead.
On Friday morning, the Caps unveiled their latest creation: Lars Eller, depicted in the most glorious form of artwork, the bobblehead.

Lil’ Lars and a Caps t-shirt will be given away at the next Inova blood drive that the team is hosting at Kettler Capitals Iceplex on January 28.
“More than 250 units of blood and blood products are needed every day, year-round, for patients in area hospitals,” the Capitals said in a release. “One blood donation can save up to three lives, and there is a continual need for all blood types. There is no substitute for human blood. It only comes from volunteer blood donors. It is used to help trauma patients, surgery patients, newborn babies, cancer patients and transplant patients.”
The blood drive runs from 7 am to 5 pm. You can make an appointment online here, but first check to make sure you’re eligible to donate.
