Hilary Knight missed the Stadium Series game to make her SNL debut

Following their triumphant gold medal win at the Winter Olympics in Peyongchang, the United States women’s hockey team were honored at the Stadium Series game. Their reception at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium was electric, though there was one notable absence from the lineup: star Hilary Knight.

When Saturday Night Live aired that same evening, the reason for Knight’s no-show became apparent. She’d joined her new BFF, Leslie Jones, for the show’s Weekend Update segment. If you enjoyed Jones’ hockey shenanigans in Peyongchang, you’ll also love the video of her reuniting with Knight back on home soil.

“Penalty Box” Jones and Knight are terrifying force to be reckoned with, as Colin Jost quickly discovers, after he offers to teach Jones a couple of hockey moves.

The entire segment is delightful, from Jones and Knight getting their Beyoncé on — Who run the world? Girls! — to Knight telling Jost, “Youz a bitch!”

If Jones was hoping to watch Hilary Knight hit the ice regularly, she might just be out of luck. On Thursday, it was announced that Knight would be heading to the CWHL and has signed with Les Canadiennes.

But if you’re looking for a hockey team to follow, Leslie Jones, we’ve got a good suggestion.
